Iwona Duda Appointed President of the Management Board of PKO Bank Polski


The Supervisory Board of PKO Bank Polski conditionally appointed Iwona Duda President of the Bank's Management Board. The condition for an effective appointment is obtaining consent of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Until such consent has been secured, Duda will be the vice – president of the managment board of PKO Bank Polski, managing the work of the management board. Duda will take over on October 23. Until now, she was the President of the Management Board of Alior Bank. The Supervisory Board also appointed Wojciech Iwanicki to the position of vice-president of the Bank’s management board.

For 20 years associated with the financial market. She was an advisor to the President of the National Bank of Poland and a member of the Supervisory Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska.

Awarded the honorary badge "For merit to the banking of the Republic of Poland".
In the years 2006-2008 she was the Deputy Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Earlier, as the proxy of the Prime Minister, she was involved in the creation of the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which was formed from the merger of the Insurance and Pension Supervision Commission and the Securities and Stock Exchange Commission. She also acted as Deputy Chairman of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervision Commission and Director of the Financial Institutions Department at the Ministry of Finance. She also worked as an advisor in the Strategic Management Department of the National Bank of Poland.

From 1998 to 2005, as a department director, she created and managed solutions in the area of the III pillar of the pension system at the Office for Pension Funds Supervision, and then at the Office of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervision Committee she supervised the insurance intermediaries market. Previously, she was dealing with public debt issues at the Ministry of Finance and was associated with the Office of the European Integration Committee.

She performed various functions in financial market institutions, i.a. as deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, member of the Supervisory Board of the National Securities Depository, deputy member of the Payment System Board at the National Bank of Poland and a member of the Supervisory Board of PTE PZU S.A.

She is an economist by profession. A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics and the National School of Public Administration. She also completed a study for an Investment Advisor - Securities Analyst at the International School of Management at the Kozminski University. Author of expert publications on the financial market and the pension system. She completed a number of professional internships in the USA and in central and government level administration bodies in Germany.

Wojciech Iwanicki

He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He was awarded the title of Executive Master of Business Administration.

He has more than ten years of professional experience in managing administration, logistics, infrastructure, human resources, and IT.

Since 2017 he has been employed with the PZU Group where he performed the function of Director of the Administration Office in PZU SA, PZU Życie SA, PZU Centrum Operacji SA, TUW PZUW. He was also responsible for the administration and finance area as Director in the Public Procurement Office. In the years 2014-2016 he was employed as Director of the office of the President of the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland. From 2006 to 2010 he was Deputy Director in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.

Since October 2019 he has been the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sigma BIS S.A.
